Step 2: Lay a Foundation of Prayer

Now that you've chosen which principle of faith that you will build into your life, clear out and level the ground beneath you by praying a prayer of surrender and repentance. Repentance means that you are acknowledging the reality that your own methods of getting you where and what you want in life are not working. You admit to being wrong and accept God's direction with commitment in your heart to carry it out in your daily life by his grace. Surrender means that you are deciding to let go control of the way you want to achieve success and instead invite God into every area of your life to lead you into his plans that he has created you for.

GUIDED PRAYER

God, I am choosing right now to come out of agreement with the desires of my flesh. I choose instead to receive a level, clean, and solid foundation that comes from your Word and is sealed in my heart through the Holy Spirit. God, I ask you to impart the power of your supernatural grace into my whole being to help me stay committed to the stewardship of developing this principle so that it will become a strong tower in my life. Thank you God for giving me access to your unlimited resources, and thank you that I get the opportunity to co-labor with you to build a life that brings glory to you forever.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
  • Where do I need to go to be quiet

  • What distractions do I need to avoid to give God my full attention

  • What are my thoughts, needs, emotions, desires that I need to bring to God

  • In what ways is my heart and my mind conflicting

  • Are there any emotions that I’m avoiding feeling

  • If so, why

  • Are my thoughts disconnected from my feelings

  • What is my vision for this ‘house’ that I’m building

  • What is God’s vision for it

  • Are those visions aligned or conflicting

PROTECTION AND PATIENCE

PROTECT YOUR PROGRESS
  • Wisdom and understanding that come from the Heart of God and the Mind of the Holy Spirit will protect the progress that you have made and help you prepare for incoming storms

    • Monitor forecast

      • do the best you can to perceive what may come to steal, kill, and destroy your progress

      • Expect a storm be ready to defend your building site

GUARD YOUR HEART
  • Your heart is your building site. Have the necessary resources to cover your important materials, and tools from the storm.

  • From your heart flows all things. The condition of your heart effects the condition of your mind, body, and soul. Use the armor of God to protect every area of your being. [Ephesians 6:10-18]

    • Truth, righteousness, readiness to share the gospel, faith, salvation, word of God

BE SOBER MINDED
  • Be careful to not allow fear to dictate your thoughts, but instead chose faith. When you cast your cares on Jesus he takes the heavy burdens of life off of our shoulders which allows us to see life clearly and brings our thoughts into a place of freedom instead of stress and despair. [1 Peter 5:7-9]

Step 4: Establish in Action

Black Marble

TAKE ACTION

TIGHTEN THE BOLTS

Relationship is where our work to transform our own life has a change to influence and benefit others. The connection found in friendship, family, workplace, and community relationships helps to strengthen and solidify our internal stewardship of these spiritual practices.

STANDING IN THE STORM

The moments of high emotion and stress are a great opportunity to test the degree that your practice has taken hold in your heart. We get to feel the joy of the strength that we've built or we get to see the weak spots we missed and give them special attention.

MOVE IN

This is the fun part! When you find that your work is stable and secure it becomes the new home that we get to live in and cherish. We get to invite others into to share that love and beauty that we have created in our heart and enjoy the harvest of blessing it creates for us.

ASSESMENT

CHECK FOR DAMAGE
  • This is a time to do a full inspection on your home. Now you will go deeper to see what needs fixing up throughout the month of the highs and lows different conditions

  • Inspection is essential to not let anything rot away. It keeps the home healthy and safe for you and for others that come in

CLEAN UP & REPAIR
  • When you find the areas that need cleaning and repairing, determine your plan ahead of time so that you can be clear of what it will look like when its back to its point of strength.

  • When we don't have a clear plan to restructure we get lost in the list of problems and overwhelmed by the needs.

CELEBRATE PROGRESS
  • Make sure not to get caught up on all the things that need work but to celebrate all that you have built and worked for.

  • Joy is strength to our heart. When we embrace joy for all the good that we have we help to solidly the things we desire to create.
